Chanuka Projects and Activities :)

Getting into the Chanuka spirit and making decorations to hang up for the classroom.

Yerushalayim art- a collage of where the Beis Hamikdosh once stood.

Painting our 3D Menorah which we then assembled and used to retell the Chanuka story. We also used it for dramatic play.

Creating our menorahs.

Playing Dreidel.
"Whats it gonna be? Whats it gonna be?"

We became scientist for a day. We learned about the chemistry of oil. Oil will always rise to the top when in water since it is less dense and cannot be desolved by water.

Here you can see the blended olive mixture with oil driven to the top. Did you wonder what the water was necessary for? It was necessary for manipulating the oil to rise to the top.
We made our very own olive oil that we used to fry our home made latkas in. :)

Yay! Making donuts. :)

People have the custom to give and get presents on Chanuka.
We played Pass the Parcel with prizes packed into it which each child got but not before answering a question on the story of Chanuka :) We never leave education behind even when were having fun :)

People have the tradition to give Chanuka Gelt during Chanuka to teach children that even when we are having a good time, it is important to think of others who are in need.
Yes, Pre-K Friends enjoyed delicious Chanuka Chocolate "Coins". :)

Singing and passing out donuts to the people at the Nursing Home.
Yes, it would've been fun to eat them all up ourselves but sharing is caring. We made others happy which made us happy too.:)
