Tu BShvat

Tu Bshvat is the holiday that we have just celebrated. It is the day Hashem looked at all vegetation He created and judged them. After judging them, He decided what will happen to each living plant for the coming year. Will the trees get enough rain and sun? Which trees will children climb on? Which trees will host bears during the winter season? What will the wood from certain trees be used for? And the  list goes on for each vegetation.
Tu BShvat is also the day that the vegetation in Israel begins to "wake" from its "sleeping slumber" during the winter season. This is the time when the weather begins to get warmer and water, minerals, and sugar start going up and down the trees and causes them to begin to grow again.
Israel is known for 5 special fruits and 2 fine grains which grow plenty of there. They are the pomegranates, figs, dates, olives, grapes, barley, and wheat.
On Tu BShvat we celebrate its day by eating and enjoying these fruits and grains including new fruits we havent tasted in a while. YUM!

How does a tree grow?
After we place the seeds in the soil and it gets watered by rain water, roots begin to grow and the trunk begins to shoot out from the ground. The ground shares its water and minerals with the tree and as it goes up into the trunk which creates branches which creates the leaves. When the sun shines on the leaves, it creates sugar in the leaves. the leaves then share its sugar with the rest of the tree.
We can definietly learn to be sharing from trees. Sharing is caring which creates good things.:)
How are trees sharing and kind?
"We can make art with its leaves" - Joshua
"Leaves share its sugar with the whole tree."- Ben
"Trees shade us from the hot sun"- Alec
"Peaople can climb on trees." -Bina
"Trees share its minerals."- Reuven
"Trees gives us sweet apples." - Boris
"Trees share its water."- Michelle
"Trees gives us leaves so we canplay in them." - David
"Trees grow strong so we can put a swing on them." - Rebecca
Did somebody say we must be grateful to trees? Yes!

Here are some more examples that we learned:
~ Trees purify our environment.
~ The brancehs and leaves from the trees shade the water in the ground from the sun so it wont get dried up.
~ Trees give us delicious fruits to eat .
~ Trees give us wood for different important uses. The friends each got a turn to scavenge the classroom for items made of wood which we benefit from, such as, our blocks, tables, floor, kitchen play area, and the list goes on.
~ The trees colors calm us and make us feel happy.
~Imagine we wouldnt have a calendar how would we know which season we are in? All we need to do is take a look at the trees and it will tell us exactly which season we are in. :)
And the list goes on and on! :)

Thank you to trees for taking care of us! :)
